Greetings from EMD.

It has been the endeavor of Emergency Medicine Department (EMD) to equip lay persons with the knowledge and skills to handle emergencies before the arrival of qualified professionals. In an effort in this direction, on 30 August 2018 we conducted a 2 hour training session on first aid for lay persons at the college of fine arts at the Dhankawadi campus. About fifty staff and students attended.

The activity consisted of a lecture highlighting the various common emergencies and the measures which can be taken by lay persons before arrival of trained personnel. This was followed by a demonstration of "Hands only cardio pulmonary resuscitation”. Subsequently a large number of people present had a hands on experience at hands only cardio pulmonary resuscitation.

The activity was appreciated by one and all members attending the training.
